About Angel Anderson
Angel Anderson is a cofounder of both Lipedema Canada and the Lipedema Manitoba Association, and she has been a driving force in the movement since its inception, dedicating herself to advancing recognition, care, and quality of life for all persons living with lipedema. Based in Winnipeg, MB, she served as President of Lipedema Canada in the organization’s earliest stages and now serves as its Vice President, while also holding the role of President of the Lipedema Manitoba Association. A natural leader and effective collaborator, Angel brings to this work more than 25 years of experience as a Chartered Professional Accountant across private industry, provincial government, and the health sector.
Angel’s commitment to community service runs deep, including thousands of volunteer hours with a wide range of organizations. Her contributions through the YWCA were recognized in 2012 with the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. Having traveled to Germany five times for life-changing lipedema removal surgery, she understands the realities of this condition firsthand. Angel is deeply passionate about raising awareness so that lipedema is diagnosed earlier in life, and she advocates to governments across Canada for formal recognition of lipedema and equitable access to healthcare.
