About Melissa Oxlad
Dr. Melissa Oxlad is a Clinical and Health Psychologist with years of hands-on experience across the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors. A few years ago she returned to academia for a simple reason. She genuinely missed teaching.
In the classroom, she loves designing lessons and real world examples that help students turn what they’re learning into skills they can actually use, the kind that make a real difference to their careers. That passion has been recognized along the way. In 2020 she received the University of Adelaide’s Executive Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award and the Australian Psychological Society’s Early Career Teaching Award. In 2024, she was honoured to become a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK).
