About Dr. Giw Mostofizadeh-Haghighi
Dr. Giw Mostofizadeh-Haghighi is the chief resident and mentee of Dr. Ghods within one of the world’s largest specialized lipedema surgical programs at the Ernst von Bergmann Hospital in Potsdam, Germany. His clinical focus encompasses reconstructive microsurgery, lymphatic surgery, and the surgical treatment of lipedema.
As a core member of the interdisciplinary lipedema program, Dr. Mostofizadeh is actively involved in both clinical care and research. He and Dr. Ghods co-developed the hybrid method for advanced lipedema, an innovative surgical approach that combines large-volume liposuction with targeted manual extraction of fibrotic nodules. He contributes regularly to research on surgical techniques and outcomes in lipedema, and presents his findings at international scientific meetings.
