Special emphasis was paid to the set-up and coordination of a specialized lipedema consultation for international patients.

Dr. Georgiou has published numerous papers on the subject of plastic surgery in internationally renowned peer-reviewed journals and was invited several times as a keynote speaker at German and international conferences. He held a part-time position as a research assistant at the Helmholtz Institute in Teltow, where he was involved with the development of a novel dermal regeneration matrix for the treatment of chronic wounds. His dissertation at the University of Magdeburg in Germany on the subject of chest wall reconstruction after sternotomy infections was published in a renowned peer-reviewed journal on reconstructive microsurgery.

He also won a prestigious ISAPS fellowship with the world-famous Prof. Botti in Italy for specialized training in aesthetic facial and breast surgery.
