About Erica Sullivan
I am a 35-year-old educator, powerlifter, and artist of mixed Indigenous, French, and Irish descent based in Vancouver, BC. Formally diagnosed with Stage 3 Lipedema in 2023, I am a passionate advocate for my mother and sister who are still navigating their diagnostic journeys. As a world traveller who has lived in three countries and visited nearly 50, I use storytelling and laughter as my primary tools for education and resilience. Whether I am lifting heavy in the gym, solo-travelling, or connecting with others through beadwork, I approach life with a “say yes” attitude and embrace the body and curves I have. While surgery is currently out of reach, I am dedicated to sharing my success in non-surgical management, including nutrition, manual lymphatic drainage and vibration therapy. My goal is to ensure the next generation, including my niece, inherits a world with equitable access to care and a healthcare system that leads with education and curiosity. I’m excited to have the opportunity to speak about my experience (in English or French) and be part of Canada’s first Lipedema Conference!
