Call for Abstracts
Welcome to the foundation of change. For the LipCan 2026 Conference, we are curating an intensive, multi-disciplinary clinical curriculum that blends rigorous medical education with the undeniable power of lived experience. Whether you are a leading medical expert or a patient with a story that bridges the gap between care and community, your voice is essential.
We are seeking clinicians capable of teaching the fundamental building blocks of lipedema care alongside the latest surgical and research innovations. Simultaneously, we are calling for fresh and diverse patient perspectives including young voices, gender diverse individuals, and support systems to help us move beyond shared frustrations and toward collaborative solutions.
This is your opportunity to help us build the future of Canadian lipedema care from the ground up.
Abstract Submission Form
Please complete the fields below to submit your 500-word (max) abstract for consideration. Submissions close May 15th, 2026. (Deadline extended)
Tips for Submissions
To transform the Canadian landscape, we need presenters who can bridge the gap between “What is lipedema?” and “What is the future of lipedema care?”
For the Clinical Track: Your abstract should demonstrate your ability to teach foundational concepts to those new to the field while also offering high-level insights for experienced providers. Successful candidates will be those comfortable with hands-on learning environments and collaborative Q&A.
For the Patient Track: We are looking for “Bridge Builders” who can offer fresh and diverse perspectives including young, gender diverse, and multi-generational voices that help clinicians understand the human impact of their work.
A Note to Our Patient Presenters: You do not need to be a clincian to have an impact here. We are looking for stories and insights that highlight the reality of living with lipedema in Canada. If you have found a way to advocate for yourself, navigated a difficult diagnosis, or built a local support network, we want to hear from you. Your expertise by experience is a vital part of the education we are providing.
